Mercedes-Benz S-Class
The default on this route and the reason the from-price is what it is. Three passengers, two large cases, a cabin quiet enough to take a call in, and a boot lid that closes over your luggage rather than around it.
Route 04
From $125 for the car, agreed in writing before the booking is accepted. Hollywood, West Hollywood and the Hills all feed into the same westbound problem, and this is the run we solve most often after Beverly Hills.
01 — The pickup
Hollywood pickups divide neatly in two. Below the boulevard it is apartment buildings, hotels and production offices where the kerb is contested and a car cannot simply sit and idle. Above it, in the Hills, it is single-lane streets with no turning circle, gated drives and addresses that mapping software places forty yards from where they actually are. Both are routine for us; both are much easier if you tell us which one you are before the morning arrives.
Send the gate code or the building entrance you will use, and mention if the street is one where the car should wait at the bottom rather than attempt the drive. Your chauffeur arrives ahead of time, parks where he is allowed to park, and texts rather than blocking a lane or sounding a horn at five in the morning. Luggage goes in the boot. If you are leaving from a hotel on Sunset, the name on the reservation is enough for the desk to point him at you.
Addresses in the Hills are frequently mislocated by mapping apps. A cross street, a gate code or a note like “third drive past the bend” saves more time than any route choice we can make.
02 — The road west
The obvious answer is the 101 south to the 110 and then the 105 west, and on a Sunday morning it is the right one. On a Tuesday at eight it is a car park. The second option is straight down La Brea or Fairfax to the 10 and west, which trades freeway for traffic lights and often wins. The third is La Cienega the whole way down to Century Boulevard, which no navigation app will suggest and which is regularly the fastest thing available.
Which one your chauffeur takes is decided while the car is warming up, not the night before, and he will change his mind at Beverly or Olympic if the freeway has gone red behind an incident. That is the practical difference between a driver who works this corridor daily and a route drawn once by software that cannot see a lane closure on the 105.
Arriving rather than leaving? The inbound direction is written up under LAX airport transfers, and every set-price run sits on the routes page.
03 — Working back from the flight
Give us the flight and we will suggest a pickup rather than leave you to guess at one. Below is how we think about it before we speak to you: the drive band first, then the buffer the hour deserves. Treat every figure as the start of a conversation rather than a promise — the drive is the only part we influence.
| Flight leaves | Usual drive | We would suggest | Why that figure |
|---|---|---|---|
| Domestic, before 9am | 45–75 min | 2h 45m before wheels-up | The 101 south and the 10 west peak together from about seven. |
| Domestic, 9am to noon | 40–70 min | 2h 30m | The morning rush breaks late on this side of town. |
| Domestic, noon to 3pm | 35–60 min | 2h 15m | The kindest window Hollywood offers all day. |
| Domestic, after 3pm | 50–85 min | 2h 45m | Westbound builds from three and does not clear until eight. |
| International, any hour | 40–75 min | 3h | Longer queues at check-in, not a longer drive. |
Scroll the table sideways for the reasoning column.
If the flight moves after booking, call dispatch on (323) 799-3190 and the pickup moves with it. The fare for the same two addresses does not change because the clock did.
04 — The car for it

The default on this route and the reason the from-price is what it is. Three passengers, two large cases, a cabin quiet enough to take a call in, and a boot lid that closes over your luggage rather than around it.

Four passengers and a higher ride height, which matters more than it sounds on a Hills drive with a broken kerb and a gradient. Also the sensible choice when the party is four with hand luggage rather than three with cases.
More people or more luggage moves you up a class: the Escalade ESV and Yukon Denali take six, the Suburban seven, the Sprinter fourteen. Tell dispatch the passenger count and the number of checked cases and we will name the class. See also black car service and group transportation.
05 — The fare
The from-price is for the car, not for each seat. One pickup in Hollywood or West Hollywood, one drop at LAX, the vehicle class quoted, whether one person travels or three. Here is exactly what that covers and the short list of things that can move it.
The chauffeur, the vehicle class you were quoted, fuel, tolls on the way, bottled water in the car and the drop at the terminal door that suits your airline. Gratuity is yours to decide and is never added without being shown.
A larger class for luggage or passenger count. A second pickup on the way, quoted before it is added. A request to hold the car between stops rather than travel between two points, which becomes the hourly rate from $85 instead.
The hour on the clock. A Friday rather than a Tuesday. A flight time that changes after booking. The quoted figure is the figure charged, agreed in writing before the booking is accepted.
We are the operator, not an agency reselling somebody else's car — which is why the price can be fixed at all. The reasoning is on why book direct.
06 — Questions we are asked
Tell us the flight time and we will suggest a pickup instead of leaving you to guess. As a guide, a domestic departure before nine in the morning wants about two and three-quarter hours between pickup and wheels-up; a mid-afternoon departure closer to two and a quarter. The drive is usually forty to seventy-five minutes and the hour of the day decides which end of that band you get.
For the car. It covers one pickup in Hollywood or West Hollywood, one drop at LAX and the vehicle class quoted, whether one person travels or three. What changes the figure is the vehicle: four passengers with four large cases need a full-size SUV rather than a sedan, and that is a different number. Every figure is confirmed in writing before the booking is accepted.
Usually, and where it will not we say so before the day rather than on it. Send the address with a note about the drive — single lane, no turning circle, gate at the bottom — and we will either assign the X5 rather than the ESV or agree a meeting point at the nearest wide corner. Neither costs you anything extra; both prevent a car reversing three hundred yards at six in the morning.
Frequently. Give us the lot, the gate and the name the drive-on is under, and the chauffeur clears security ahead of your call time rather than while you are waiting. Crew and talent moves that run all day are better booked as hourly or as-directed, and production work generally sits under brand and production transportation.
A second pickup along the way is quoted before it is added, and on this route it is usually a small addition rather than a new fare. If the stop pulls the drive somewhere it would not otherwise go, we quote hourly from $85 instead, because at that point you are holding the car rather than travelling between two points.
